Brandon Griggs Music
About

From the day that I first learned to walk and bang on a flagpole with a rock at the same time it was clear that there was a drummer in my soul. After going through many "toy" drum kits and pan lids, I got my first real drum kit at age 9 and have added many pieces since then.

By the time I was 15, I was playing covers by King Crimson, Dream Theater, Opeth along with other progressive and metal music as well as attempting to compose some original music. At age 16, I started learning how to compose music with MIDI sequencing using a Korg NX5R sound module and later a Korg X-50 synth. Nowadays all of the songs have been realized using VSTi synths.

As my musical direction continued to evolve I found a niche in music intended to be used for gaming, from world maps to selection screens to boss battles. Many of the songs on this website are of this variety.

Drums

All of the parts in these songs were played by me on a MIDI controller keyboard.

The drummer in my soul wll not allow me to use a drum machine, so even the drum parts were played "live" by me on a MIDI controller keyboard (picture a "2-fingered typist" on a piano). Some of the songs have live drums, conga and other percussion parts in them, also played by me.

Thanks to my brother, Zach for playing electric guitar on a couple of tracks. Thanks to my dad, Ed for mixing the tracks and managing the website.

Unless noted otherwise, feel free to download any of the songs for non-commercial purposes only.
If you do use a song, please give me credit and direct people to this website.
If you like what you hear, please ask your friends to visit this website.

Thanks, Brandon.
